ICAI CA Intermediate Exam Pattern for May 2024 Attempt

The number of papers has been reduced from 8 to 6.

All papers have a mix of subjective and objective questions, with 70% marks for subjective and 30% marks for objective.

The objective questions are multiple-choice questions (MCQs) with no negative marking.

The subjects are Advanced Accounting, Corporate Laws, Cost and Management Accounting, Taxation, Auditing and Code of Ethics, and Financial Management and Strategic Management.

The exam is conducted in a computer-based format over four days, with one paper per day.

The total marks for each paper are 100, and the passing criteria are 40% in each subject and 50% overall.

The exam happens twice a year, in May-June and November-December.

The exam is aligned with the new scheme introduced by ICAI in 2024, which also changes the duration of practical training from 3 years to 2 years.

The registration for the exam starts from 1st July 2023 and ends on 30th June 2024.
