Students who are ambitious to become a Chartered accountant in India after passing 12th exam have to fill the CA Foundation application form to pursue their journey. Application form of CA foundation is available at the official website of ICAI. There are lots of students who commit mistakes while filling the CA foundation exam form. We advised all the students to be careful while filling the form and re-check before final submitting. Once you are done with the payment page you will not be able to do any correction.
Recently, ICAI has introduced the online CA Foundation correction window facility to the students who have committed mistakes while filling the application form 2023. While applying for the correction window you must know that you can make changes regarding center and medium.
You should be very careful while filling each column on the CA foundation exam form. If in case you have made a mistake while filling the form you need to make it correct by going to the correction window facility. ICAI does not accept any manual or physical application. If you want any correction in your form you need to visit the official website of the board. You have to upload a scanned copy of the handwritten application with your signature at the correction window available at the official website.
There are two correction windows open by ICAI. The first window is available at free of cost and opens after two weeks from the form submission date. The second window opens one month from the examination and you can submit the changes by paying Rs 1000.
Steps to Make Changes in Application Form by Correction Window:
Students who have made mistakes while filling the exam form can make the changes by following the steps mentioned below:
- You need to visit the official website of the ICAI.
- You need to login with your registration number and password.
- In the students panel click on “CA Foundation Application Form” for the correction.
- You need to upload a scanned copy of a handwritten application with your signature.
- Make sure this time you mentioned the right details before submitting it.
- You will get the confirmation mail on your registered mail id.
- Once you receive the confirmation you will not get back to make any further change.
- When your request is approved, you can see the changes on the official website.
- You will receive mail regarding the changes in medium or center from ICAI.
Note – You will not get any new CA foundation admit card from the officials. You need to carry your earlier admit card along with the approved letter sent by ICAI.
Procedure for the Correction with Window 1:
ICAI opens a correction window after one week from the last date of submission of the form and closes within one week from the start date. ICAI does not charge any penny for this which makes it free of cost.
You will be able to see the correction window on the official website after one week from the last date of online submission of form. You can change your medium and center via the correction window. In case you are a Hindi medium student and mistakenly selected English medium then you can change the medium through with a correction window and vice versa. If you do not select any medium then by default English will be selected. So, if you want to change from Hindi medium to English then only go for this option.
Likewise, if you want to change your center then also you can use this correction window. In some cases students opt the center outside India then you can change the center by paying the difference of examination fees. After making the required changes you can track your application status throughout the official website.
Procedure for the Correction with Window 2:
ICAI opens this window after closing the first window and closes down one week before the exams. If anyone hasn’t applied or missed the date by any reason they can apply for the change in the Medium/Center by this window. ICAI charges a fee of Rs 1000 to make any changes regarding Medium and center.
Important Note: Students should know that ICAI will not accept any application request in case it is received by them just before 7 days of exam.
With the help of this window you can change your medium and center by paying a requisite amount of Rs 1000. Once you pay the fees it is non-refundable by ICAI. The board will only refund the fees if your application is not entertained due to some administrative reasons. The amount will be sent back to the source account after 30 days of the examination.
We request you to take a extra care while filling the online form:
- Do not open more than one session on the same computer at the same time.
- Before heading towards the payment option, check your details. Once you pay the fees you will not be able to edit the details.
Note – Do not go back or refresh your browser while making the payment.
After submitting the fees you will receive a mail from the official website to confirm the acceptance of your changes. You need to carry this letter along with your admit card otherwise you will not be allowed to sit in the exams. If you find any problem regarding the procedure or refund of your fees you can call the free toll number of ICAI. You must know that you can only change the Center and Medium through the correction window. ICAI BoS (Board of studies) does not allow you to change your name, dob, and other details through this window.
